You have made it to the digital home of Unruly Correspondence, where together we are gathering an archive which documents our acts of dissent.
This archive logs those moments, big and small, where we break the rules, disobey, disagree or change our minds.
Perhaps you have arrived here with a story of dissent already in mind, or perhaps the questions below can help prompt you. The archive is open for contributions in audio, text or image form – so choose whichever medium suits you best.
Once you’ve made your contribution, spread the word. Perhaps you received a letter? Pass it on! Perhaps you found your way here another way? Spread the word!
All the contributions will be anonymous, unless you would like to be named. If so, include your name in your submission.
Contributions submitted here will be used as part of a collection of artworks to be presented at the Festival of Dissent at the Gregson Community & Arts Centre on the 5th September 2026 (11am – late).

About the Festival
The Festival of Dissent is a one-day festival created through a partnership between Lancaster Arts and The Gregson exploring dissent through conversations, artworks and shared experiences. Rather than defining dissent, the festival invites us to notice differently, ask questions, listen generously and imagine alternatives.
